De vacature
We are looking for a machine learning specialist to strengthen our development team. Whiffle's approach combines the best of physics based numerical weather prediction with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. Your role will be to further improve our machine learning approaches and to implement this in a scalable forecasting system.
Functie eisen
- Excellent skills in statistics, machine learning and data analytics
- Background in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field
- Affinity or experience with renewable energy and/or forecasting is an advantage
- Experience with Python is an advantage
- Experience with Linux is an advantage
- Affinity or experience with best practices in software development (CI&CD, automated testing) is an advantage.
Jouw belangrijkste taken:
01
Develop new machine learning approaches for short (up to 6 hours ahead) and medium range (up to 72h ahead) forecasting products.

Set-up, test and analyse machine learning models for new customers.
03
Continuous Development: Establishing a workflow that is based on Continuous Integration.
04
Further automate and orchestrate the input data streams, to facilitate onboarding of new customers and handling of more weather input data.
05
Support the Operations team from time to time with data logistics, development of client-specific add-ons to the atmospheric model, analysis and visualisation of complex data, data analytics, etc
